Subjects taught

All tutorial lessons are meticulously designed to facilitate progress and ensure success in learning. I take pride in delivering engaging and enjoyable teaching sessions that foster a positive learning experience for all pupils, whatever their starting point or need.

English

English lessons can be tailored to cover writing, spelling, grammar and or reading from Early Years to Year 6. Teaching is carefully planned to be engaging and meaningful to help all pupils succeed and enjoy lessons.

Maths

Maths from Reception to Year 6 can be covered. Both mathematical concepts and reasoning are covered to ensure a greater understanding.  Teaching is interactive and uses a range of resources to support learning.

Phonics

The systematic teaching of phonics is crucial to the early stages of reading and writing.  Using careful assessment allows me to know when a child is ready to move on and to close any gaps in learning.

11+

11+ tuition starts in Year 5. Lessons cover Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning (GL Assessment) for SWGS, plus Non-verbal Reasoning for BWS. Practise exam sessions are available.

Science

Science is a core subject in the Primary Curriculum. Lessons cover both scientific knowledge and scientific enquiry skills, taught principally through practical activities.
